About this surah
An-Nasr means The Help. It speaks of the help of Allah and the victory that came, and of people entering the religion of Allah in crowds. It then tells the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, to praise his Lord and ask forgiveness. It is one of the last surahs revealed, and it teaches us that when something good happens, we thank Allah first.
Arabic and meaning
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ(1)
When there comes God’s victory, and conquest.
وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًۭا(2)
And you see the people entering God’s religion in multitudes.
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ تَوَّابًۢا(3)
Then celebrate the praise of your Lord, and seek His forgiveness. He is the Accepter of Repentance.
