About this surah
At-Tin means The Fig. It begins with oaths by the fig and the olive, by Mount Sinai and by this safe city of Makkah. Then it says that Allah created the human being in the finest form. The surah reminds us that people can fall low through wrongdoing, but those who believe and do good deeds have a reward that never ends. It is short and easy to learn.
Arabic and meaning
بِّسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ(1)
By the fig and the olive.
وَطُورِ سِينِينَ(2)
And Mount Sinai.
وَهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ(3)
And this safe land.
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍۢ(4)
We created man in the best design.
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَٰفِلِينَ(5)
Then reduced him to the lowest of the low.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۢ(6)
Except those who believe and do righteous deeds; for them is a reward without end.
فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ(7)
So why do you still reject the religion?
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ(8)
